Hi everyone! Today, it's gonna be a little different... because I'm going to write my thoughts on a movie: Chippa. You can watch it on Netflix.
Chippa is a 10-year-old boy who roams around the lesser known streets of Kolkata in search of his father he has never met with a letter he cannot read.
It is one of my favorites. You'll see why:
#1 Reality
This movie conveys what actually happens in the streets in one night through a little boy's eyes. When I saw all of it, I was tensed and kept thinking of what would happen to Chippa.
His perspective of life seems to be unique. This is portrayed through his words, actions and reactions throughout the movie.
#2 Great lessons
If we take a closer look, we could learn many lessons from Chippa: satisfaction, boldness, bravery, calmness, optimism, etc.
My favorite: How we see ourselves and the world around us matter more than others' thoughts on us.
#3 Unique Plot
There isn't really a storyline (but enough to give the audience a vivid idea of the situation), but the story still moves on smoothly and the audience's interest is maintained.
#4 Strong protagonist
The protagonist, Chippa, is the main(or only) reason I loved this movie. He is the
focus of the movie. There are many things I like about him: his positive nature, his equanimity in all difficult situations, his attitude towards everyone he meets, etc.
#5 Music
The music(composed by Cyrille de Haes) is lively and perfectly matches with the setting.
Sunny Pawar: Sunny's performance in Chippa is worth mentioning.
There is also dramatic irony at the end.
Do watch it! Suitable for people of all ages.
