Every time I utter the word 'non violence', the first thing I think of is one of the greatest examples of truth, valiance, justice and hard work: Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi(also know as Mahatma Gandhi).
October 2nd marks non-violence day and Gandhi's birthday. Just observing this day wouldn't make us less violent- it has to be a practice and habit that must be continuously observed.
It's good to control ourselves, develop a tactful nature and avoid getting into conflicts- but sometimes we need to be violent if someone tries to take advantage of our peace-loving and calm nature.
When I encounter an unpleasant situation, I react in four stages:
Politely disagreeing
Tell the opposing party your intention or your opinions in a polite manner. If they listen, agree or apologize, the conflict ends there.
2. Firmly disagreeing
What if the conflict doesn't end right there and your opposing party has a lot of attitude?
Be a little hard on them. Talk in a firmer voice( remember: you can be firm only when you're right)
3. Try to convince
Make your point clear to them and try your level best to convince them.
4. Walk away
No- this isn't cowardly behavior! It needs a lot of courage and patience to reach this stage. You've done your level best and appreciate that.
Warmest Regards,
Medha

Why don't we stay together and not be violent towards each other?
