Hey everyone! This is my second movie review. Today, I'll be reviewing Forrest Gump, a 1994 film, directed by Robert Zemeckis. It stars Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise along with others who have very beautifully portrayed their roles.

I'll just give you a gist of the entire movie. It revolves around the life and shortcomings of Forrest Gump, whose IQ (intellectual quotient) is very low- so low that he couldn't even attend school. Gump, sitting on a bench, narrates his story to various people who keep coming and going; we get to see so many different reactions to it.

He meets and befriends so many people, including Jenny Curran, someone you will come across so many times in the movie.

Gump is a very audacious and gifted person- from our perspective at least; he doesn't even know that he has so many gifts. Whatever he does is done out of ignorance. Some people despise him, while others try to empathize with him.

3 reasons Forrest Gump is a must-see

1) It makes you feel good

Its exquisite plot makes you forget everything else that's going on and sucks you right in. This is the perfect movie to watch when you are feeling down- it serves as a reminder that life can be so fulfilling and simple.

2) It's funny!

This movie has the right amount of everything you can expect in movies- including comedy! There are movies that are sooo funny, that you get bored of it at some point, but Forrest Gump isn't like that- the atmosphere is set in such a way that it suits the audience's mood.

3) We get to see life from someone else's perspective

We tend to judge people when we see them do peculiar things. Believe it or not, this movie teaches us a bit about acceptance. At first, most of us will feel a sense of resistance towards the characters as soon as they are introduced to us, but we will start accepting them the way they are as we get used to them.

This is a movie worth adding to your watchlist.

Maturity rating: 13+

How can you watch Forrest Gump?

You can find it in Netflix and Amazon Prime Video

* Tom Hanks is my favourite actor, because he's just so versatile and hard working. His acting is so natural!
